The Downy Serviceberry grows well in USDA Hardiness Zones 4-9. It typically thrives in Full to Partial Sun and has a 1-2 Feet growth rate per year. Once full grown they can reach a height of 15-25 Feet and 10-15 Feet in spread. The Downy Serviceberry does well or is tolerant in Moist, Well-Drained Acidic, Alkaline, Clay, Loamy soil. In fall expect to see the leaves transition to a beautiful hue of Yellow, orange and red. With proper conditions they will produce Fruits that are edible to humans. Be ready to see a variety of wildlife drawn to the Downy Serviceberry as they can attract Bees, butterflies, small mammals and song birds. Once in bloom the flowers will be White in color.
